It is better to buy seeds suited for your climate and tastes. It would cost far less money. I like High Mowing Seeds for my area, which is New England. a quick search on the internet and you can find non-gmo, non hybrid seeds specially developed for your area too.

The seed bank has a stupid mix of seeds. Asparagus?better to order crowns, otherwise you wait 5 to 7 years before you cit your first spears. With crownsd you wait 2 years to cut the forst spears and another 3 before you can cut all you want. 240 to 300 bean seeds? I guess one won't be eating any dried beans that first year (much less green beans unless you want to eat your seed stock for the following year.) Artichokes? I hope you live in the south or California

Not to mention, if you get a couple of catalogs you can get the same variety of seeds for about 1/3rd what these folks charge.

And if you are buying the emergency seed bank I sincerely hope you know about how to save seed which includes knowing how to isolate varieties so they do not cross, when and how to harvest, how to clean the seeds and how to store. if you are not going to save the seed there is no reason for this.

it would be far better for people to know that hybrid seeds are NOT GMO's and that growing an Organic garden for the purpose of both food and seed saving takes several seasons to learn how to do this well and you cannot get a great garden out of a big can. het books and order from places the have signed the safe seed pledge. get things you like/love to eat and forget the rest. learn about local farms who are sustainable and GMO free who cater to the locavores and patronize them. volunteer on a local prodce farm and learn how you really should be growing and saving seeds.
