The Repubs whine that companies will leave California because the cost of business is too high and I am not afraid to say that the California Cap and Trade system is ripe for scamming as pointed out by the SacBee a few days ago. They are considering handing out more credits to companies which in essence translates into more lax emission standards. So here is a thought for the day; The carbon tax and dividend is an elegantly simple plan to shift a tiny fraction of the external cost created from the burning of fossil fuel back to the producers at the point of extraction. 100% of the proceeds are returned back to the consumer so the government and the banking industry are kept out of the picture. The producers will turn around and charge consumers for the tax but consumers will naturally shift their buying patterns to reflect a low carbon footprint as they realize that they can begin to earn money by doing so.

I think it is worth trying the carbon tax at the state level first before considering a plan at the national level. Greens should all be familiar, with coral studies, which show how every time CO2 concentration has risen partly as fast, as it is rising, today, the Earth has suffered one of five MASS EXTINCTION EVENTS or the PETM extinction, 56 m.y.a. 2. We need to end the drug war, with peculiar urgency, since it incites murder and corruption, and we need to SAVE, to gather funding, while swinging HEMP, from contraband, to resource 3. We need all CO2-neutral biomass, for cyclic carbon media, which we can get, since petroleum cartels are getting deflection media, from prison industry and from frackers and coal exploiters, to prevent biomass, like hemp, algae, and switchgrass 4. We need to re-green all available deserts and polluted areas, with peculiar aggression, before the northern cap melts, every summer, which will increase warming and climate change, drastically, while ocean life fails, from acidification.Shall we prioritize these, or shall we simply fail, at issues, to let stonewalling of tax returns determine the outcome AND the issues impetus, of the 2012 election?

I see several clear flaws, in the Green agenda, including the following, neglected, in the Green New Deal, on the other page.

1. That's because ballot access for state and local candidates in many places depends on how well the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates do. We desperately need to build a strong progressive "third force" in American politics. Jill Stein is a great lady and a great candidate. Her campaign is a great start in the right direction.

Running a strong candidate at the top IS a way of building from the bottom up. Right now it is all debt based and is a burden on us and future generations. We need to take the money issuance function away from the banks and put it in our hands, to used as a means of funding infrastructure without further debt. We could use this function to retire our current debt as our bonds come due. Its is part of our platform and is a no brainer. Reform of our monetary system has to occur if we are to effectively generate long - term economic solutions. The usual economic reforms and regulation will not suffice if we are to survive. Institutional restructuring will need to occur to insure long-term sustainability.I do know that Jill supports the Kucinich bill and that the Green Platform calls for this restructuring, but I believe our candidate could be more explicit on the issue.

Jill Stein is not mentioning the need for monetary reform, or the way that our money is created and brought into existence. There's a good chance they will be on in over 40 states and most of America will be able to vote for them. It'll be a practical vote with tangible benefits. In 49 out of 50 states, The Stein/Honkala campaign can pass a state set threshold, often between 1% and 5% to gain ballot access so that local Green candidates can run and win in the next election cycle.Nationally with 5% of the vote both the campaign and the Green Party will get millions of dollars in federal funding and attain national Minor Party status. These are reasonable goals within reach with results that will build local Green Party candidate victories and create a viable national alternative party.Don't let the false meme of "can't win" or only "a protest vote" spread. There's a real victory possible and the Democrats will use both fear and the ignorance of state and federal election laws to try to prevent material Green Party growth.Vote Stein for president and your next state legislator may be a Green. Vote Stein for president and they'll be millions of dollars for the Green Party to compete on the national stage.

Stein/Honkala are on the ballot in 30 states and county.
